Start where you are

Make yourself at home.

What if you don't need to have it all figured out?

Maybe you don't need another person telling you to "just communicate better" or "practice more self-care."

Maybe you just need a place to slow down, sort through the knots, and figure out what actually fits your life.

Finding clarity. Creating change. One conversation at a time.

Welcome to Active Resolution Counseling

Life gets messy.
The good news? People are remarkably adaptable.

Sometimes life feels like trying to untangle a drawer full of charging cords.

The harder you pull, the tighter everything seems to become.

Therapy isn't about finding the "right" cord or pretending the mess doesn't exist. It's about slowing down long enough to understand how the knots formed, gently untangling what no longer serves you, and creating a path forward that feels clear, intentional, and sustainable.

At Active Resolution Counseling, we provide online therapy for individuals, couples, and families throughout Colorado and Hawaii. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to gain clarity, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change.

Find Your Starting Point

Every knot has a different beginning.  You don't have to know exactly what you need. We'll start where you are and untangle the rest together.

Individual Therapy

Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or simply different than you hoped. Individual therapy provides a place to slow down, untangle what's keeping you stuck, and discover practical ways to create lasting change.

Couples and Family Therapy

Relationships aren't meant to be perfect, they're meant to evolve. Whether you're navigating conflict, communication challenges, parenting, or major life transitions, we'll untangle the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and build stronger, healthier ways of connecting.

Clinical Supervision

Becoming a skilled therapist is about more than earning hours. Through collaborative supervision, you'll strengthen your clinical confidence, deepen your systemic thinking, and develop an authentic approach that feels true to who you are as a clinician.

Evaluations

We provide professional, thorough evaluations designed to offer clear recommendations and help you understand the next steps. Our evaluation services include Department of Transportation (DOT) evaluations with a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) who is knowledgeable in the DOT Clearinghouse process and return-to-duty requirements. We also provide court-ordered and substance use evaluations, with an emphasis on making the process straightforward, respectful, and easy to navigate.

Our Approach

At Active Resolution Counseling, we believe therapy should feel like two people working together. Our role isn't to have all the answers, it's to help you make sense of what's keeping you stuck, recognize your strengths, and discover practical ways to move forward.

While each of our therapists brings their own personality, experience, and clinical style, we share a common philosophy. We believe people don't exist in isolation, and that meaningful change often begins with understanding the bigger picture. Our approach is collaborative, practical, and genuine, blending evidence-based care with mindfulness, sustainable self-care, and, when the moment is right, a little humor.

No matter who you work with, you'll find a therapist committed to meeting you where you are, helping you untangle life's challenges, and supporting you as you create meaningful, lasting change.
